Groundbreaking Ceremony, April 29, 2017

A wonderful celebration of almost three years of hard work, preparation, and many hours of volunteer support for fundraising. We had a beautiful blue sky as we posed for photos, and saw an eagle fly directly overhead just as we dug the first shovel of soil at the site.  See the BUILDING/BUILDING SITE tab and FACEBOOK 2017 under the NEWS INDEX tab for more photos, stories, and the names of those in the photo.

Granite House will provide 24-hour long-term maximum-assistance care for individuals who are stable and responsive to external stimulation but not likely to emerge from a minimally conscious state.

The mission of Granite House is to provide support and hope to individuals and families who are living with severe and permanent brain injury.

We have started a capital campaign to raise funds to build the residence.  We are asking individuals, business and foundations to support this work.

1) Build a 24-hour care residence for young adults
in a minimally conscious state after brain injury

2) Create a home-centered setting with
    situation-specific care

3) Reach out to families in all stages of this
    life-long journey of caregiving

Granite House, Inc. is a Federal 501(c)(3) tax-exempt Minnesota Nonprofit Corporation

Granite House will be qualified to receive waiver funding from the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
